How we manage your transcription project From the moment we receive your transcription file, our knowledgeable account managers will quickly review the content and get back to you that same day with a competitive quote that is clearly based on the nature of the work, and the quality and duration of the recording. If your file is long , unclear or entails complex information, we may ask a transcriber to first listen to the tape so that we can provide you with an accurate quotation that is unbiased and totally reflective of your requirements. Our transcribers usually have many years experience in transcription work having supported law firms, government organisations, police and courts as well as a variety of international private sector companies, so you know your transcription is in good hands. Reliable account managers look after your work from day one Your account manager will assign your transcription project to a suitably experienced transcriber who is fluent in your target language and understands your sector’s terminology. If you have volume transcription files or your project is ongoing, your account manager will assemble a team of experienced transcribers, overseen by a project manager who will review the work and ensure compliance with our strict quality control guidelines. Quality control and work flow process During transcription your account manager will regularly liaise with your project manager to assess the quality of the work and sort out any issues that may arise, and keep you updated on their progress. Depending on the level of transcription you need and the clarity of your audio, your files may require extra listening, which could naturally impact on delivery timescales and should be taken into consideration before we start. The average number of times a transcriber listens to your file is anywhere between 4 to 8 times, possibly less if your files are good quality or less detailed. Live data or truth transcription also involves a greater level of skill, and your account manager will discuss this with you when we assess your project. If your tape is damaged or the sound quality very poor, we may find some words or parts are inaudible and can’t be accurately transcribed. We will review each individual case on its own merits and award discounts where appropriate and at our discretion. Once we have transcribed and checked your files, we can arrange for an independent proof-reader to look over them again so that any errors can be filtered out and your transcription files updated for complete accuracy and consistency before we send them to you. Translate your files into any language There is also the option to translate your transcribed files into the language of your choice. This is usually done following transcription from the source language to the source language, for e.g. German to German. We will then ask an experienced, mother tongue translator to translate from the source into the target language, for e.g. German to Arabic, usually referred to as basic transcription. Where translation into more than one language is required, this is called superior transcription where we transcribe into the main target language then into multiple languages. How to send us your files We can accept most types of source audio file for transcription, which can be submitted to us in a number of ways. If you have an online Accessorix account, you can quickly upload your audio files in a matter of seconds just by logging in to your account and going to ‘book a transcriber’. Or, if you prefer, you can email your files or send them to us by recorded delivery, and we will confirm their receipt as soon as we receive them.
